Rusty Relics

Out and about in Greenock yesterday.

Enjoyed taking photos of some old rusty relics of Greenock's industrial past.

  2. It looks like it was a calm day for photographing. I'm trying to figure out what that could be used for, but am at a loss.

    1. It's down beside an old dry dock, so it will have something to do with that.

  3. is this like a gear to raise and low the dam? or? curious. i love seeing it up close. we love going to grist mill & see all the gears and working belts. they sure don't make things like that any more. ( :

  4. Sometimes it's a little humbling to look at old bits of kit and imagine all the people associated with them - the precision way in which they were made, the cost of procuring them, purpose they were intended for; for some, these were familiar objects.
